This search was successfully concluded the same day. The person was found in the nearby town.

This search was successfully concluded the same day. The person was found in the nearby town.
On Sunday 27 September 2009, a 60 year old amateur photographer from Warburton was reported missing after going for a walk near Cambarville, in the hills behind Warburton.
During the night, VicPol SAR requested the assistance of Bush Search and Rescue. A team of searchers departed Melbourne early Monday morning, but was turned around when the missing man reported to search organisers at Cambarville.

Sunday 30 Aug. BSAR members were called to assist in a search for a man missing on Mount Feathertop. He had walked up to Federation Hut to stay the night the previous afternoon. The mountain was snow covered, conditions were icy and visibility was poor.
Initially, a strong contingent of BSAR members from the north east assisted Police Search and Rescue with the search. They were joined by members from Melbourne on Monday morning, 31 August.

Sat 31 May 2009. BSAR members assisted the search for  a young boy near Gormandale, south of Traralgon. He went missing late on Saturday afternoon.

Two walkers were reported missing in the forest near Lorne on Tuesday 30 December 2008.
BSAR joined Police Search and Rescue, SES and Parks Victoria on the search on Wednesday 31/12/2008.
BSAR groups commenced searching late Wednesday afternoon, camping out for the night.
Early Thursday morning a BSAR group located a bush shelter. The Police helicopter searched in the direction indicated by their tracks and found the missing men waving in a small clearing near their second bush shelter. The helicopter dropped an orange smoke flare at their location, which BSAR groups used to locate the missing men and move to assist them. Both were in good condition.

BSAR was involved in the unsuccessful large-scale search for a missing bushwalker at Dom Dom Saddle in March 2008, and in further searching in April 2008.
Police requested BSAR’s assistance for a third time, for another search effort by the Police Search and Rescue Squad on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 October 2008.
This search found no trace of the missing bushwalker.
