Sunday 15 April 2012Â The search for the 30 year old missing walker in the Mt Donna Buang – Badger Creek area has concluded successfully with the man being found at about 10.30 this morning. He was found on a track by a Police vehicle that was taking two BSAR search groups to their search areas.
Seventy participants took part in BSAR’s annual training weekend held on 19-20 November 2011 in the Wombat Forest. It was our largest training event in a long time. Thirteen BWV Clubs were represented, plus a number of BWV individual members. It was especially pleasing to welcome 25 new and prospective members on their first BSAR training event.
BSAR members assisted Police for three days from 17 to 19 October 2011 in the continuing search for David Prideaux around Tomahawk Hut. Police had requested four BSAR members, to act as navigators for a search effort utilising dog handlers with their dogs from the Department of Corrections and the Police Dog Squad.  Police selected some higher and flatter areas north of Tomahawk Hut as more likely deer stalking areas for more intensive searching. Nothing was found.

Joanne Prideaux with her family and friends kindly organised as sausage sizzle at Bunning Sunbury on 2 September 2011 to raise funds for Bush Search and Rescue. Â Â Joanne organised this to thank BSAR for its recent efforts in the search for David Prideaux at Tomahawk Creek near Mt Stirling.
BSAR was called to assist the Police Search and Rescue Squad with the search for a missing 13 year old girl in the Mushroom Rocks area near Mt Erica in the Baw Baw National Park. The girl was part of a Scout group camping in the area. The inclement weather, snow cover and the age of the missing person necessitated a degree of urgency in the search call out.
Sat 6/8/11 The group of BSAR searchers departed Melbourne departed in the evening and commenced searching in the dark upon arrival in the early hours of Sunday.
Sun 7/8/11 A bushwalking club group who were on Mt Erica and had received the call out messages, noticed and reported small footprints in the snow.
Bush Search and Rescue teams with Police Search and Rescue located the missing girl on Sunday afternoon north west of Mt Erica, about 3 kilometers from Mushroom Rocks, after tracking her footprints though the snow for some time. Â She was immediately evacuated by the Police Air Wing helicopter and is now recovering.
